Road Trip

It has been a LONG couple weeks but well worth it... Our long awaited road trip to Regalia was GREAT.. I wanted to take this trip with the girls and although i didnt get to see Jaison as planned, i still helped the girls along with Vida to get their gowns and all their accessories. Modestly speaking i think we are all going to look great in our gowns at Internationals and all thanks to who? yes REGALIA.... Cary and David have been phenomenal with all of us and are such wonderful people. It's just that type of environment that you would spend hours there and not even realize it. We took pictures with Cary and David, the girls, Oh and lets not forget we met one contestant for Miss Universe (Cayman Islands), very humble and beautiful young woman.

Now, let's get to the best parts of this trip. Waking up at 4 am to be in Ft lauderdale by 6 am was not looking pretty but by the time i arrived I WAS EARLY...lol. Typical. We had Mc'donalds (all healthy) and we laughed our way out of that drive through ( ill keep it as an inside joke only for Vida) lol.. Lauren thankfully brought her Laptop and Chris the magician was able to find the movie 'BEAUTIFUL" before we left. Let's just say that all 4 girls ended up crying by the end of that movie... AWWW.... After our visit with Regalia it was time for lunch, Finally. We had a special guest join us for lunch that it was great meeting. Lauren and i ended doing a fashion show practice in the middle of the parking lot.

Early start back to Miami is what brought this day to an end. We all took our little naps here and there watching out for any cameras to come out. We practiced a few questions making sure that we are prepared for the competition at internationals.

I look forward to the next couple weeks with the girls and a packed itinerary. First event of the weeken, Golf at Winston Trails in Lakeworth. I have made shirts for all the girls and we will be the Green team, how exciting.. Like the saying goes, so many things to do and so little time...

Anxious

I am still in pain from the last work out training. I can not complain because it was fun to wake up on a saturday morning and run at the beach IN THE RAIN. First time for everything and boy was it fun. We did drills with Chris and a few of us felt as if we were going to collapse. I know I did. We would get in the water up to our knees , take pictures, splash water , run after each other and just have fun which on the side of doing business it is great.

A bit over a month away from International and im already anxious. I feel like i have so much more to do and so little time. More training, more exercise, more practice, Just give me more... lol. I can not wait to see what the out come will be and to meet new friends and experience what will be another memorable pageant. For some reason this one is different. More determination perhaps, more self- confidence. YES.... That is my base, to help young women and women in general just as myself to know that they can do anything they set their mind to do. Just the feeling of knowing that you are accomplishing something that you have set your mind to is heart warming for me.

I am mind set to make a difference and i will try my best at it. I have a great director, a great trainer and an awesome team of girls. When we get together we laugh, and have fun like actual sisters do. Lulu was actually mentioning how she was in her sorority event this past weekend, and while i listened i was telling myself that this is what our team feels to me (sorority sisters). Actually i feel like spending more time with all of them because they are so much fun. My Teeny weenie Lauren, that is what i call her becuase she is the best teen queen i have seen. She will do the oddest things, lets not get into details. LOL...

Busy Bee

The last few weeks have been exhausting but fun. From events, to exercises, to school but in the end its all worth it. Our first training with Chris on June 11th was such a great work out.Stretching our legs, doing abs and running. I'm not much of a runner (lil secret) but i tried to keep up. After that, i was to run back home and get ready for the send off of CPL Matt McCall US Marines, just the fact that we showed up with an autographed collage of us queens and spent some time there was all worth while. We learned the meaning of the flags they hung out by their door and also a few other things that not many people might know. It was so much fun. Pictures on Facebook. June 17th was a great day for me. I got the opportunity to do a segment with Kelly Craig and the well known Ana Cruz from "who's wedding is it any way?". Wearing and modeling wedding dresses on behalf of project pink, an organization that gives back to women and families that have surpassed Breast Cancer. I loved it. Ohhhh and here comes the best part... June 18th. REGALIA. Took a quick one day trip to visit my new lovely friends David and Cary from Regalia. They were so welcoming and took me in as one of their own. I tried dress after dress and took lots of pictures for them to keep and finally i found "THE ONE", with the shoes and not to forget the earrings. All i can say is that it's a fabulous gown by Sheri Hill, the rest you will have to wait and see pictures or Join us in Orlando for a pageant that you will NOT want to miss.

This past weekend was also an adventure. Aquatic Session with our Traininer Chris was GREEEEAAATTT( like tony the tiger would say). We did one minute sessions of leg lifts, Brazilians, etc. Lets not even get to detail of how me & the girls felt the next day. :-)... Sunday was also fun, we had our first meeting where we went over fundraisers and our unique walks (love you Lauren) lol. We talked about wardrobe and our Future Trip ( how exciting).

After all of this all i can say is that i have never had this much fun. Our court of girls are wonderful and we each compliment each other and are like sisters (literally). I can not complain, Vida is the greatest and will have fun with you like you can not imagine. I have to thank you Vida, Chris, Tanya (laughing -inside joke) and many others that you all know who you are. Thank you for making this experience memorable SO FAR because there is much more to come.

Keep up with us Florida Beautiful girls you won't regret it and not to mention, that you will have a great laugh....

Kourtney Gallego send off Party

Friday night was a last minute thing but the best event i have been to in a while. It was fun to see so many pageant queens and families coming to support Kourtney. We mingled, took pictures with my lovely director Vida and Miss United States Tanya. Lots of pictures (soon to come) with the other girls. We surrounded Kourtney to wish her the best of luck in her Pageant and cut a small cake WHICH I COULDN'T touch. That being the only part that i disliked but as always we get over it. Raffles were presented and we all had such a wonderful time. Thank you Vida for inviting me and it was great to see you all there... I missed my other girls. :0( Rafael Gallego should be so proud of his daughter and title holders. They will all do great and its awesome to feel part of a pageant family...

When in doubt just ask... RIGHT?

Well im asking.I understand that pageants over all are mostly competition. But why is it that girls consider you competition when your not really on their same team? You are both wearing different sashes and are both equally as important.

Girls, it is important to always remember your roots. No matter how many sashes or how many crowns you wear or have we are all women and equal. My reigning queen for Miss Florida Beautiful Janetta Jackson now Miss Earth Dade answered a question that we should all Keep in mind. What is the real meaning of Beauty to you? So what is it?
To me its about being unique and kind and humble and helpful and just being yourself not FAKE... It's about what your parents taught you as a kid to be and being just as nice inside and out. Beauty is not all competition, it is to know that what ever people do or say you are still as good as a role model to others showing your true colors as much on the inside than the outside.

Sashes and crowns don't make you more than the other person wearing another sash, yes some title's i understand might have more importance because of where you represent BUT don't let it get to you that although you are wearing it now once that year is over you will be the same person that you should continue being every day of your life.Again, be a role model in and out of that sash...

Nothing personal for those that do read this, i just want to share my feelings about this sort of thing since you tend to see hostility within SOME pageant girls. Don't let it fool you, Us Florida Beautiful Girls we dont waste our time on that.

Ready for International

Finally today i booked the hotel room for International Pageant. Boy am i excited to see what's in store and to see the girls from the Miss Florida Beautiful pageant. That was my first reaction when i herd them call my name.. I started shaking and had bumps from head to toes. It was such a great weekend. Relaxing time before registration, then meeting the girls, straight to practice and then change for interview. The nerves started kicking in, UNTIL i walked in and started babling my life away.. Vida can vouch for this. It was an emotional yet fun interview, where i was asked what i would do if i found prince charming ? and Who would i interview and why? Between Vida and i am sure we would have over flowed that room. Lol. Next Day was the overwhelming amount of emotions. Running around like crazy. While sitting and waiting to start practice we had a bit of everything happen, Tanya taking care of the venue "Im here now" lol, the girl that had boy problem ( i won't mention any names) spilling coffee on her self. I just COULD NOT let her walk around like that. Between Miss Orlando & I we washed the coffee out and i felt a lot better. Then came the fun stuff. All the hard work of hair, make up, HOT ROOM, and not so big space paid off, WE all made it happen. I will never forget that day and will now start on my new adventure of making this year a memorable one. I love you all.. Thank you for making my dream once again come true.
